Michael (Mike) is a very dear memory to us, and we know Mike would like his story to be shared with all of you.

Mike was a funny, outgoing and loving kind of guy. He had several friends, and could always make you laugh, even on your worst day. He went to college for a year, and at the time of his death, he was the Assistant Manager at Office Max in Akron Ohio.

Mike never let most things in this life get the best of him. He kept a positive attitude in all that he did. There is nothing in this world my Brother would not do to help someone, or lend a hand, and I tried my best to make this whole Tribute site reflect the person that Michael was and I believe he still is, only now as a Angel, and Above with the Lord in Heaven. Not a day passes I don't think about him, and how he made me laugh, and how he would always call me to see how I was, and my Family. I miss him dearly, and I will NEVER forget him, as he was and still Is.

However, as sad as it is, Mike lost his life that was just starting at the age of 20. Mike made a fatal mistake to ride with one of his friends who had been Drinking, and Mike was also Drinking the night they both made This mistake that cost Mike his life.They failed to stop at the stop sign, and there was another truck, right there at that moment, who had no time to stop, and ran into the car of Mike and his friend with a 55 mph. impact to the passenger side of the car (that my Brother was on). The driver of the truck also lost his life. He was 26. So many heartaches and days filled with grief and sadness have been caused by the choices made by both of these young men.

I know in my heart if Mike were here on this Earth again today, he would go back to the ways that he had about him in high school, and not of ever turned to "Addictive" Drinking at all, and go back to working with SADD, and being a Youth Counselor at church.
IF he had that same choice to make over again, he would make a different choice.
By telling and warning others not only about the danger that comes from drinking and driving, but also the danger of riding with someone choosing to drive while they have been drinking, and working with youth in church, hoping they would never turn to "Addictive" Drinking as a way of life at all.

So many of us take our lives for granted and the precious time we have to spend with our loved ones. We always think there will be another day to say the things we always wanted to say to them and do the things we always wanted to do with them.

Well, I never got to say my goodbye to Mike, my brother.
So Mike...now I can say "Goodbye".

My biggest hope from Michael's Story is that people will be responsible when it comes to the choices that they make when it comes to this issue, if they are choosing to Drink in their lives. The hardest thing in my life, has been picking out my Brother Mike's casket... I hope that no other family will have to go through the heartaches and grief that my family, his friend's family, the other family invovled, whos Son also died, and several other families have had to go through.

****I have forgave Michaels friend, who was driving the night of the crash, and He is now changing his life for the better, and I am so Thankful for that!!
